Design Elements
Along with photography, we use a set of brand supergraphics, symbols and backgrounds to help elevate the layout of any design. These elements allow us to illustrate the F&G story in a creative and unique way.

Ampersand Supergraphic
Supergraphics are design elements that can be used in a layout or execution to create visual interest. These should be used sparingly and only when they add impact to the piece. Our ampersand should be used whenever there is supporting copy illustrating the idea of collaboration.
Here are acceptable color variations of the ampersand:
Symbols
These symbols can be used as alternative graphics in our marketing materials and digital graphics. Please use them sparingly.
Decorative symbols
Numeric symbols
Backgrounds
Backgrounds help to achieve a successful layout. Background images, textures and colors create depth and contrast, drawing attention to the overall content being presented.
At F&G, we tend to use colors from our palette, gradient scheme, ampersands, the Des Moines cityscape and patterned half-tone options to help create visual interest.
Icons
Icons are used throughout both print and digital materials. They can be used to add visual detail, increasing user friendliness of an interface, or help tell a story. Appropriate color contrast should be prioritized with consideration to the background color the icon is being placed on. Some examples are illustrated below.
Light background usage
For use on light backgrounds, our darker purple is used as the main line stroke, and a secondary brand color is used for the fill.
Dark background usage
For use on darker backgrounds, either a light purple variation or white is used as the main line stroke, with a secondary brand color used for the fill.
